Program Overview
Our Why
Fresno County Superintendent of Schools (FCSS) believes every student is entitled to a high-quality education given by culturally responsive educators. FCSS places an urgency with a purpose to fight for educational change to help all learners overcome, break through, and dismantle barriers so that they can succeed and develop the skills needed to impact the world and inspire others to do the same.
Program Design
The Teachers of Color Pipeline (TOCP) has designed a pathway to support African American students in Central Unified School District starting in elementary school all the way through high school. This pathway is being implemented within a 3-phased approach beginning with embedding a culturally responsive pedagogy in all trainings. To learn about each of these three phases, visit here.
- Phase I: Transforming Educators
- Phase II: Empowering Students
- Phase III: Elevating Parent Voice
