African American Student Advisory Cabinet
The African American Student Advisory Cabinet was established in 2016 by Superintendent Jim Yovino, Student Equity and Empowerment Department, and students from throughout Fresno County. After an evening conversation with African American students and their District Superintendents, it was decided to form the Cabinet in order to establish a student voice forum specific to these students to discuss and address their concerns as well as share positive events on their campuses. From this group a "Plan of Action" was created and shared throughout the community as a reference to the needs of these students and their peers. The Cabinet meets 3-4 times a year and is actively engaged in the planning of the annual African American Student Leadership Conference.
